Areas involved in the One Term School Placement Programme

German pupils coming to the UK on the One-Term School Placement programme now attend a large number of different schools spread over a large area which includes most of Northern England and Dumfries and Galloway in southern Scotland.  This includes schools in over eight Local Education Authorities (LEA's) and a number of dirfferent school types including Grammar Schools, Comprehensive Schools, Independent Schools and Sixth Form colleges.  Pupils are usually placed no more than two to a school and live with carefully selected host families either individually or sometimes in pairs.

The main areas covered by the programme are Cumbria, Northern Lancashire, North Yorkshire, Northumberland, Dumfries and Galloway and small parts of a number of other Local Education Authorities including Bradford, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Durham.
