BJR Student Programme

Connect Europ works closely with the Bayerischer Jugendring (BJR) based in Munich, and together they offer twelve week placements for English speaking German school pupils in British schools.  Groups come to Britain each Spring and Autumn term and pupils are then placed individually, or sometimes in pairs, with local host families and attend local schools.  Pupils work completely in English, attend school full-time and take normal lessons.  A wide variety of different schools are involved throughout Northern England and Southern Scotland (see "Areas" for further information) and pupils between 14 and 18 years old quickly involve themselves fully in normal school and family life thereby gaining a real insight of life in the UK and improving their written and spoken English.  Recruitment  for the programme is handled by the BJR (see below) and everything in the UK organised by Connect Europ.

The Bayerischer Jugendring (BJR) was formed in 1947 and aims to represent the interests of all young people throughout Bavaria. One of its main activities is supporting and developing international links for all Bavarian schools and youth organisations, and for these it is managed by the Bavarian Ministry of Education.
